Aliomanu Estates, Kaua`i, Hawai`i
Resting between magnificent panoramas of the Pacific Ocean and the Kalalea Mountains, the tropical oasis of Hale Mahina, a four bedroom, four and a half bath home situated on the eastern shore of the Garden Island of Kauai. From the moment one enters Hale Mahina’s courtyard under the thatched palapa, one surrenders to the harmony between master designer Gary Tobey’s design and Kauai’s natural beauty. Exquisite during the day and possibly even more so at night, as the moon rises over the ocean, bestowing its magical light that gives this private paradise its name.
Hale Mahina is a tropical oasis perfectly suited to its island home, gorgeously appointed encouraging an enjoyment of outdoor living. The indoor and outdoor ambience are graced by the teamwork of landscape artist Martin A. Bryan and the one-of-a-kind exotic wood carvings and artifacts designed and commissioned by Steve Devery. The most prominent and unique being the three 70-year old, 15 foot tall, hand carved Philippine rain drums that stand sentinel throughout the property.
The courtyard is a peaceful sanctuary with a salt water swimming pool, hydro spa, Koi pond and lush tropical landscape. The covered bar and kitchen area invite many nights of preparing meals in the open air or sipping one’s favorite beverage either at the bar or perched atop one of the eight stools sunken into the pool.
